Brian Harney’s practice focuses on Criminal Law, Personal Injury, Family Law, Unemployment Compensation, and Landlord Tenant matters. Brian began his legal career as an assistant district attorney where he prosecuted numerous cases through disposition in juvenile and district courts. Brian's career transitioned to civil litigation where he represented a large international automobile insurance company. He engaged in all stages of litigation practice, including case investigation with the client's special investigation unit. Brian is also an experienced trial lawyer, having served as sole defense counsel in a number of jury and small claims trials.
Brian earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, his B.A. in History from Boston College, and is a graduate of St. John's High School in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, where he rowed varsity crew. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, and also sits on the Board of Advisors of the Boston Young Professionals Association. Brian provides pro bono legal services through the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Boston Bar Association and regularly volunteers in his neighborhood at the Charlestown Boys & Girls Club.
